If you like something, you should go and do it. From what we hear, he’s adored by his peers and colleagues, so we thought we’d sit down for a cuppa tea.⁠

1. What did you want to be when you were a kid? ⁠
My parents were farmers and I started veggie gardening from a young age. So I always wanted to grow stuff, and that led me to wanting to have my own vineyard when I was about 7 to 9 I think!⁠

2. If you weren’t a photographer, what would you be?⁠
I did a masters in environmental management so I’d probably be doing something around coastal sustainability. Trying to save the world.⁠

3. Who’s your favourite kiwi photographer that we should be keeping an eye on? And why?⁠
I have a lot of great photographer mates in NZ who I admire their work each with all unique styles. NZ is small and we always see lots of the same stuff so I life to look at different types of photography. I’m from a farm and grew up hunting so I’ve got to say Cam Henderson is my fav NZ photographer. He’s started a magazine called The Hunters Journal, which is about hunting and Cam takes amazing wildlife photos which is always fascinating to see. He’s found a great niche and it’s and does a great job of capturing it.⁠

4. What inspires your photography? ⁠
To record memories for history sake! Make people smile and give them the confidence they deserve. Also the ability try capture the exact beauty of everything we see and are surrounded by.⁠

5. Best band / solo of all time? Living or not. ⁠
David Bowie! An icon, a performer and a talented musician.⁠
