Up next in our Everyday Legends series is the incredibly talented Photographer and Videographer, Rāwhai Wetere, otherwise known as Raf @rafwtr.

Born in Hamilton Aotearoa, raised on the East Coast of Australia, and now currently living in Ngāruawahia, Waikato, this man has covered some ground and has the images to show for it. Check out his epic pictures and quick fire Q&A below!

1. What did you want to be when you were a kid?
When I was born my dad was always skating so since day one i wanted to be a skater with him and then a few years later I wanted to be Michael Jordan.

2. If you weren’t a photographer, what would you be?
Not as happy…

3. Who’s your favourite kiwi photographer that we should be keeping an eye on? And why?
One of my favourite Maori photographers is Damien Nikora, (@damiennikora) uncle D! He isn’t new here, he’s an OG in this photo world and I’ve learned a lot from him and his journey. He has gone from huge commercial/fashion industries to strictly local, ethical and sustainable. It’s a whole new lifetime in shooting years.

4. What inspires your photography?
It comes in different forms but at its core it's feeling. The feeling you get being in new places, being around friends and things that matter to you… that gets me going.

5. Best band / solo of all time? Living or not.
Jeff Buckley has my heart.
